One area generally not covered in most Spanish classes is how to strike up a conversation with a stranger of the opposite sex.
Here are a few useful phrases to help you break the ice.

¿Cómo se llama usted? – What’s you’re name?
¿Desea tomar algo? – Would you like something to drink?
¿Quisiera bailar conmigo? – Would you like to dance with me
¿Tiene la hora? – Do you have the time?
¿Habla usted inglés? – Do you speak English?
¿Por casualidad, sabe dónde queda…? – By chance, do you know where …is located?
¿Me puede indicar el camino? – Can you show me how to get to..?
¿Tiene usted fuego? – Do you have a light?
¿Viene aquí muy a menudo? – Do you come here often?
Creo que la conozco. – I think we’ve met.
Creo que la he visto por aquí – I’ve seen you around here.
¿Es usted una modelo? – Are you a model?
¿Quisiera hablar un rato? – Would you like to talk for a while?
¡Qué buen tiempo hace! – What great weather we’re having!
¿Le gustaría salir conmigo? – Would you like to go out with me?
